Sean K. Elavia
Principal
Sean K. Elavia joined LEVIN GANN PA in 2008, where he is currently a principal. Mr. Elavia’s practice focus is the representation of clients on a wide array of business transactions including formation, mergers, acquisitions, contract negotiations, and financing. As part of Mr. Elavia’s practice, he assists his clients in complex estate planning, often involving the generational transition of family businesses in a tax-efficient manner. He also successfully represents both individuals and businesses in tax controversy matters. Mr. Elavia combines his business and tax controversy background to offer solutions and strategies for achieving desired goals with the most beneficiary tax consequences.
Mr. Elavia graduated magna cum laude from Loyola University in 2005 where he studied philosophy and business administration with a concentration on accounting and economics. In 2004, he was inducted into Beta Gamma Sigma, a national honor society for business, and Phi Sigma Tau, a national honor society for philosophy. In 2008, he earned his law degree, magna cum laude, from the University of Maryland School of Law. Upon graduation, he worked in a Metropolitan/D.C. area tax boutique firm where he focused exclusively on federal and state tax controversy.
Mr. Elavia is an officer serving on the tax council of the MSBA. He is a guest lecturer for numerous large accounting firms and teaches course work for continuing professional education (CPE) for CPAs. He is an adjunct law professor at the University of Baltimore, School of Law, teaching Federal Estate and Gift Tax. Mr. Elavia is a regular guest on “Money Riches & Wealth” for Baltimore Talk Radio. He is conversant in Gujarati and can understand Hindi.
